Symptoms to Watch For
A New or Changing Mole
Any mole that’s growing, changing colour, or developing uneven borders.
A Spot That Doesn’t Heal
If a bump, sore, or scab hasn’t healed in 3–4 weeks — or keeps reopening — don’t ignore it.
Unusual Sensations
Itching, burning, or pain in a specific skin area — especially without injury.
A Shiny, Pearly, or Translucent Bump
Often mistaken for a pimple — but doesn’t go away and gradually enlarges.
A Dark Streak Under a Nail
Especially if it appears suddenly or spreads — could indicate melanoma.
Bleeding or Crusting
Any area that bleeds easily, oozes, or develops a crust for no clear reason.

We examine your entire skin — from scalp to soles — using a dermatoscope, a specialised magnifying device that helps spot early changes invisible to the naked eye. We look for unusual moles, growths, patches, and any changes in size, shape, colour, or texture. The process is thorough, respectful, and completely non-invasive.
Not all skin cancers look the same. You should book a check if you notice:
-
A new mole or spot that looks different from others
-
A mole that changes in size, colour, border, or shape
-
A sore that doesn’t heal or bleeds easily
-
A rough or scaly patch that’s persistent
-
A dark streak under your fingernail or toenail
-
A spot that itches, stings, or feels sore for no reason
If it’s new, changing, or just doesn’t seem right — get it checked. Early detection saves lives.

Mostly, but not always. UV exposure is the leading cause, especially for basal and squamous cell carcinomas. But melanoma, the deadliest type, can occur in areas that rarely see the sun — like the soles of the feet, scalp, or under nails. Genetics, skin type, and immune status also play a role.
A full-body skin check typically takes 15 to 30 minutes. There’s no pain, no prep, and no downtime. You’ll be asked to undress to your underwear and we’ll offer a gown if preferred. Our consultant dermatologist will explain everything step by step — it's quick, thorough, and discreet.
If a lesion looks abnormal, we’ll explain why and either:
-
Take a clinical photo and monitor it at a future appointment
-
Perform a biopsy (quick, minor skin sample under local anaesthetic)
-
Book you for immediate removal, if needed
Everything is handled in-clinic, with medical-grade precision and full aftercare.
-
Yes — especially if you:
-
Have fair skin or burn easily
-
Used sunbeds or had lots of sun exposure
-
Have more than 50 moles
-
Have a personal or family history of skin cancer
-
Take medications that affect your immune system
Skin cancer is one of the few cancers that’s visible and treatable early — but only if you look.
